Kothumai Halwa Ingredients:
Whole wheat – 1 cup,
Clarrified butter – ¾ cup,
Sugar – 3 cup,
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp,
Cashew nut – 75 gm
Kothumai Halwa Method:
Soak wheat over night. Grind the soaked wheat and take milk out of it. Again grind and take milk out of it repeat this process 4 times.Keep the milk for some times, while the water is flotting on the top, remove that water on the top.Make sugar syrup to three string consistency and add wheat milk.Keep on string. When the milk is mixed with sugar syrup gradually add the clarified butter mix well.When its will cooked the clarified butter will come out from Halwa when we touching the mixture in should not sticky. Place the halwa on the gresed plate. Garnish with fried cashew nuts and cardamom powder.
