Mattree Ingredients:
Wheat flour or maida - 1 cup Pure ghee - 1 tsp Vanaspathi - 1 tsp salt - 1/2 tsp Ajwan - 1/4 tsp oil - to deep fry
Mattree Method:
Sieve flour and mix with salt. Blend ghee and vanaspathi to the flour with hands and mix them well till it is well kneaded Add ajwain, sprinkle little water to form thick dough, knead well until it becomes soft Divide the dough into 3 or 4 balls roll it out like thin chappathis. Using a fork make small markings on the top of the dough, then cut into squares or rectangles. Deep fry until they turn golden brown
