Kancheevaram Idli Ingredients:
Rice - 1 cup,
Urad dal - 1 cup,
Coconut - 1/2 cup,
Oil 2 tablespoon,
Pepper 1/2 teaspoon,
Jeera 1/2 teaspoon,
Channadal 1/2 teaspoon,
Salt 3/4 teaspoon or according to taste,
Green chilli,
Ginger 1/2 inch,
Curry leaves a few,
A pinch of hing,
A pinch of turmeric.
Kancheevaram Idli Preparing Method:
1.Soak rice and urad dal in water for a few hours.Wash
and grind into a coarse batter adding enough water. Keep to ferment overnight.
2.Hext morning heat oil in a pan add the rest of the ingrdients, fry a bit, and then mix into the batter
along with the salt. The batter must be thick.
3.Steam in idli moulds or greased plate for 10-20 minutes.
4.Serve hot with tomato chutney or sambhar. |
